Ottawa 67's News Release
OTTAWA -- Julius Bergman scored at 3:22 of overtime to cap a 6-5 comeback win for the London Knights over the Ottawa 67's on Friday night at TD Place.
Bergman took a feed from Max Domi and whistled a shot past Ottawa goalie Leo Lazarev to give London the victory and send the 67's to the dressing room shaking their heads in disbelief.
Ottawa had been up 3-0 after the opening period and ahead 4-1 at the midpoint of the match but couldn't bury the Knights.
London stormed back with three straight goals to tie it at 4-4.
Jeremiah Addison lifted the 67's back into the lead on a power play marker with less than four minutes to play, but the Knights tied it with the net empty with 40 seconds remaining on a goal from Christian Dvorak.
Ottawa picked up one point for the loss in overtime and moved into a tie for third place with North Bay in the Ontario Hockey League's Eastern Conference standings.
The 67's have a hugely important game tonight in St. Catherines against the Niagara IceDogs, one of the hottest teams in the OHL with five straight victories and eight in the last 10 games.
The IceDogs sit in fifth place in the conference, five points behind the 67's and North Bay as the league teams enter the final stretch of the regular season.
Following the game in St. Catherines, the 67's will complete the road trip in Mississauga against the Steelheads on Sunday.
Ottawa returns to TD Place on Friday, March 13 against the top-ranked Oshawa Generals. Face-off is at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are available on the 67's website, or by calling 613-232-6767.
