Belleville Bulls News Release
SUDBURY, ON - The Belleville Bulls finished up a two game northern road trip on Friday night as they traveled to Sudbury to take on the struggling Wolves. Both clubs came into the contest hoping to bounce back from a pair of losses. Sudbury stormed back to a 7-6 victory the last time they hosted the boys from the friendly city and it was the Wolves coming out on top again as they skated to a 3-0 victory at the Sudbury Community Arena.
It didn't take long for the home team to solve Belleville starter Charlie Graham as they opened the scoring just three and a half minutes into the opening frame. Forward Jacob Harris took a pass from blue liner Jeff Corbet and made no mistake potting his 11th of the season. Left-winger Brody Silk was credited with the other assist.
Belleville had a couple of power play opportunities later in the period but couldn't find the back of the net while on the man advantage. The Bulls led 8-7 in shots after 20 minutes of action.
It was much of the same in the middle frame as the Wolves buried another relatively early. Just under the nine minute mark defenceman Alex Clapham netted his second of the season from forward Michael Pezzetta.
Once again the Bulls had two power play opportunities with a few good scoring chances but Troy Tompano kept the door shut. Belleville led 22-15 in shots heading into the second intermission.
Things began to get chippy in the final stanza as the Bulls tried to claw their way back. But another early Sudbury marker sent the Bulls packing. At 5:50 Kyle Capobianco tallied his 10th of the campaign from left-winger Danny Desrochres.
Timpano made 31 saves in his second shutout of the season and earned first star honours. Charlie Graham made 22 saves in the loss as the Bulls fall to 25-30-3-4.
-- The Bulls are back in action next Friday as the travel to the Limestone city to take on their East Division rivals at 7:00pm. Don't forget Your Bulls will be at Belleville Nissan and Boyer Kia tomorrow afternoon from 1-3pm. Stop by for a chance to hang out with some your favourtie players! Plus, a team signed Bulls warm-up jersey will be up for grabs at each location.
