KJ Harrison Hits First AA HR to Lead the Sens to 6-2 Win

KJ Harrison hit a two-run home run in the second inning to give the Senators a 2-1 leading Harrisburg to an eventual 6-3 win over Richmond. After being no-hit by Richmond Thursday night, the Senators have totaled 17 hits in the past two games.

On Capitol Hill

Tim Cate started and went the first five frames earning the win for the Senators, his first in Double-A. He scattered eight hits but allowed just one run. Nick Wells followed and went three innings, facing 13 batters. He struck out four and walked two while allowing two hits. Jhon Romero pitched the ninth inning allowing a two-run home run but finished the game with a strikeout.

With the Gavel

KJ Harrison hit his first home run in Double-A in the second inning. Cody Wilson had two hits to lead the Sens. Eight of the nine starting position players had hits for Harrisburg. Cole Freeman and Osvaldo Duarte both doubled and scored runs.

Filibusters

The game was in front of the largest crowd of the week, 2,695. The Sens pitching staff combined for 13 strikeouts. After dropping six straight games, the Sens have come back with back-to-back wins. Harrisburg went 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position. Richmond stranded 10 runners in the first six frames.

The Senators play game six of their six-game series against the Richmond Flying Squirrels Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 12:50 p.m.
