Rolison Rolls as Yard Goats Win Back-To-Back Games

Hartford, CT- The Hartford Yard Goats got a solid start from left-handed pitcher Ryan Rolison and scored three times in the third inning in a 5-2 victory against the Portland Sea Dogs on Saturday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park. Rolison pitched into the sixth inning and limited the Sea Dogs to just one run on four hits while registering five strikeouts and leading the Yard Goats to their second straight win. Hartford scored three runs in the second inning capped by a two-out RBI single by Matt Hearn.

Rolison recorded four strikeouts over the first three innings and allowed only a pair of singles over that span. Hartford scored three times in the second inning. Matt McLaughlin brought home Todd Czinege with a hard ground ball to the infield to make it 1-0. Manny Melendez's double set up Max George's sacrifice fly and Matt Hearn finished the rally with a two-out line drive single to centerfield, scoring Melendez to give Hartford a 3-0 lead.

Rolison continued to pitch well and picked off a runner in the third inning and got help from a double play grounder in the fifth. He took the mound in the sixth inning for the first time and gave up a leadoff infield single and after a two-out walk was lifted from the game. Reliever Jake Bird hurled the next 2.1 scoreless and Tate Scioneaux worked the final frame helping the Yard Goats win back-to-back games for the first time this season.

The Yard Goats continue their first homestand on Sunday afternoon (1:05 PM) against the Boston Red Sox affiliate, the Portland Sea Dogs. RHP Garrett Schilling will start for the Yard Goats while RHP Frank German will start for the Sea Dogs. The game will be broadcast on AM 1410 WPOP and FM 100.9 FM and newsradio1410.iheart.com.
