Chesapeake Baysox News Release

After falling behind early, the Baysox got into Reading's bullpen again, with Patrick Dorrian's soaring grand slam punctuating a five-run rally to lift Bowie to an 11-5 win Friday night. Dorrian's momentous home run was his fifth of the season in just eight games played.

Trailing 4-3 heading into the fifth inning, the Baysox went to work. With one on, rehabbing outfielder Anthony Santander singled to left field in the midst of his 1-for-4 night. Adley Rutschman then worked the first of his three walks to load the bases for Dorrian.

Against newly entered reliever Mark Potter, Dorrian then hit the towering fly to right field. As the ball descended beyond the wall, Dorrian shrugged towards the Baysox dugout. The grand slam lifted Bowie to a 7-4 lead.

Terrin Vavra went 2-for-3 with two RBI's in the win. The Baysox worked ten walks in the game led by Rutschman and Chris Hudgins who each had three. Ofelky Peralta came in and worked a four inning save to wrap up the 11-5 win.

The victory was a fourth consecutive for the Baysox over Reading. Bowie is now 7-2 on the season.

Bowie will try for one for the thumb on Saturday night with RHP Cody Sedlock on the hill. Get your tickets for Saturday's 6:35 p.m. start by calling 301-464-4865 or visiting online at baysox.com.
