King Lifts Reign Over Condors, 3-1

ONTARIO, Calif.- The Ontario Reign (20-13-2-2), proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, earned a 3-1 victory over the Bakersfield Condors (9-26-3-1) before 5,072 at Citizens Business Bank Arena Monday afternoon.
The Condors started the scoring with a goal by Tyler Helfrich at 5:40 of the first period, but the Reign rattled off three goals to lead 3-1 going into the first intermission. Three seconds into a Reign power play, C.J. Stretch bulled his way to the front of the Bakersfield net and beat Bryan Pitton with a quick stickhandle at 10:50.
The Reign took their first lead of the game on Tristan King's eighth goal of the season at 14:23. Pitton's kick save of Geoff Irwin's shot sent the puck to King in the slot and he swept it around the sprawling goaltender. Kyle Kraemer also assisted the goal. Irwin and Kraemer set King up again at 19:33. Irwin took a feed from Kraemer at the left hash marks, drawing the attention of the Condors defense. King moved unnoticed to the net where he tipped a pass from Irwin inside the left goal post.
Bakersfield bobmarded Chris Carrozzi with 15 shots in the final frame, but failed to gain any ground as the Reign won it 3-1.
Carrozzi (6-5-3) stopped 28 of 29 shots, while Pitton (3-13-2) took the loss with 23 saves on 26 shots. Carrozzi is unbeaten in his last seven games with a 5-0-2 record.

The Reign play a pair of promotion-filled games this coming weekend against the Colorado Eagles.
Friday, Jan. 20 is Star Wars Night. Join the 501st Legion Inland Empire Squad to enjoy a great game with a Star Wars twist. Saturday, Jan. 21 is American Red Cross Jersey Night. The Reign players will be wearing jerseys, designed by tattoo artist Corey Miller and Ignite Advertising. These jerseys will be auctioned off live after the game, proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross Inland Empire Chapter.
The first 3,000 fans will receive a red puck, sponsored by San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino. Cameron the Super Fan will be cheering on the Reign, pumping up the crowd and tossing out T-shirts.
