New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Manchester, NH- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, and Citizens Bankare giving kids ages 6 to 16 the chance to be heard by fans at Merchantsauto.com Stadium and listeners of the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Networkat every Fisher Cats home game this season. With the Citizens Bank Kids Call the Gamepromotion, one lucky child is selected at random to fill in for public address announcer Alex James for one half-inning and then join radio broadcasters Mike Murphy and Bob Lipman for another half-inning at each home game.
"The Citizens Bank Kids Call the Game promotion has been a win-win since its inception last month, with our fans getting a real kick out of hearing the kids over the P.A. system and the children themselves very excited at the chance to be the voice of the Fisher Cats," said Fisher Cats President/General Manager Rick Brenner.
"With the success of the Citizens Bank Kids Run the Show promotion last year, we were eager to partner with the Fisher Cats to give kids an opportunity to be part of the action throughout the season," said Cathleen A. Schmidt, president, Citizens Bank. "It's a real treat to hear a child announcing who's up at bat. There will be even more opportunities for kids to experience a variety of game day roles on August 26 when the Citizens Bank Kids Run the show returns."
Children ages 6 to 16 can still sign up for the Citizens Bank Kids Run the Show, slated for Thursday, August 26, when the Fisher Cats take on the Portland Sea Dogs in a 7:05pm game at Merchantsauto.com Stadium. Kids will be able to participate in a variety of game day roles for the front office, including team president, turf manager, official scorer, newspaper reporter and television reporter. To sign up, visit the Fisher Cats Ticket Office during regular business hours (9:00am-5:00pm, Mon-Fri; 9:30am-2:00pm, Sat), register in person at the State Farm Guest Services Center at every home game or log in to www.nhfishercats.com.
