
Khokhlachev Scores Twice in Overtime Win

Providence, RI - Alexander Khokhlachev scored twice, including the overtime game-winner, in tonight's 3-2 win over the Hartford Wolf Pack. Austin Czarnik assisted on all three goals and Jeremy Smith contributed 24 saves and an assist on the winning goal. Providence has won the first four games of a 7 game road trip
The P-Bruins drew first blood, capitalizing on the power play for an early lead. Czarnik passed to Colin Miller from the right point he unloaded a big snapshot from the top of the left circle. Khokhlachev was in front of Hellberg and collected the rebound and finished low blocker side to go up 1-0. Czarnik, Miller, and Khokhlachev was the same combination to score first in Sunday's power play goal - also the first tally of the game.
Hartford retaliated 1:16 later, and again in the 16th minute of the period to go up 2-1.
Brandon DeFazio kept Providence's power play record perfect when he capitalized on the P-Bruins second power play of the game. His snipe from the slot was DeFazio's 5th game in a row notching at least one goal. Seth Griffith and Czarnik were credited with the helpers.
Providence out shot the Wolf Pack in the third period 12-7, but neither tam could find the back of the net, forcing overtime. This is th 6th time in 10 games that Providence has needed extra time to decide the winner.
Khokhlachev came up big 2:15 into the overtime period when his shot from the top of the circle found a way past Hellberg - his 6th game winning goal of the season. Czarnik and Smith picked up the assists.
Seth Griffith played in his first game since sustaining an eye injury March 5th against the Portland Pirates.
The P-Bruins continue their road trip Friday March March 25th against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Providence will make their way back home to the Dunk on April 2nd against the Hershey Bears.
