ROCHESTER, NY - The St. John's IceCaps led 5-1 in the third period but dropped a 6-5 decision to the Rochester Americans Wednesday night at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York.

Charles Hudon paced the IceCaps with a pair of goals, his second-consecutive, two-goal outing. Jeremy Gregoire, Gabriel Dumont and Morgan Ellis also scored for St. John's. Nikita Scherbak assisted on both of Hudon's markers. Newcomers Cory Ward and Chris Joyaux picked up their first pro points (assists) in the setback.

Chad Ruhwedel capped the Americans' five-goal comeback when he found the back of the IceCaps net with only four seconds remaining in regulation.

The IceCaps face the Americans in Rochester again on Friday (8:35 PM) before heading to Toronto to play the Marlies on Saturday afternoon (3:00 PM).
