The Kernels return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday, August 7th for a seven game home stand. Here's a preview of what you can expect these next seven games:
August 7-10 vs. Beloit
The Kernels return to Perfect Game Field and open a seven game home series with four games against the Beloit Snappers, the Midwest League affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. Fans can enjoy a spectacular post-game fireworks show, thanks to Z 102.9 and J&M Displays. The Boy Scouts will have their second campout of the season and we welcome special guests from the Iowa Donor Network and the city of North Liberty to the game. Gates open at 5:30 and first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm.
The first 1,000 children, 12 and under, through the gates when they open at 1:00 pm on Sunday, August 8th receive a free youth button-down Kernels jersey, courtesy of McDonald's. It's also a 104.5 KDAT Sunday Family Day when the Kernels take on Quad Cities at 2:05 pm. The Kernels are wearing special red Angel Jerseys, sponsored by Xquisite Limo - these jerseys are being sold via a season-long silent auction ending on August 22, with the proceeds to benefit the Angels and Kernels Foundations. Fans can get autographs from the Kernels on the concourse from 1:20 to 1:40 pm; meet Papa Balloon and Glass Slipper Entertainment's Tiana from 'The Frog and the Princess' and play Travel Advisors Baseball Vacation Bingo during the game; and run the bases and play catch in the outfield after the game, thanks to Beef O'Brady's. First pitch between the Kernels and Snappers is scheduled for 2:05 pm.
Baseball should be played under warm summer skies and the Kernels host the Snappers in a noon game on Monday, August 9th presented by 104.5 KDAT. Take a break from the office and catch some Kernels baseball as the gates open at 11 am and first pitch is set for 12:05 pm.
Bring your KRAFT Singles package wrapper to the Kernels Ticket Office on Tuesday, August 10th for a steal of a deal. Every Tuesday home game when you bring a KRAFT Singles package wrapper, you get a buy one ticket, get one free offer from KRAFT. Visit kraftsingles.com for more info! It's also a 98.1 KHAK Two Dollar Tuesday where regular hot dogs, peanuts, nachos, bottled soda and water, and 12 oz. draft beer are two dollars all game.
August 11-13 vs. Kane County
The Kernels continue their seven-game home stand with three games against the Kane County Cougars, the Midwest League affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. One lucky fan, age 18 and older, could win $10,000 on Mix 96.5 FM/WMT AM 600 Winning Wednesday! If a Kernels perform a certain feat, such as hit for the cycle, in the correct inning, a lucky fan wins $10,000. Gates open at 5:30 and first pitch between the Kernels and Kane County is set for 6:35 pm.
Bring your thirst to the stadium on Thursday, August 12th for 100.7 The Fox Thirsty Thursday when 12 oz. draft beer is $1.50 and bottled soda and water is just two dollars all game. The Kernels welcome special guests from the community of Solon and the Jefferson Band of Blue to the game. First pitch is set for 6:35 with the gates opening at 5:30 pm.
It's a 'Pink Out' at Perfect Game Field on Friday, August 13th. The Kernels encourage all fans to wear pink to the game as the Kernels will wear special pink jerseys that will be sold via a silent auction during the game, with the proceeds to benefit the Mary Kay Foundation, which is dedicated to the ending of all women's cancers and domestic violence. You'll want to be here when the gates open at 5:30 pm for Rock 108 Progressive Beer Night. 16 oz. draft beer starts at $1 when the gates open and goes up a dollar each hour until reaching full price. First pitch between the Kernels and Kane County is set for 6:35 pm.

104.5 KDAT Sunday Family Fun Day: Every Sunday home game, enjoy selected snacks for $1. Fans can get autographs from the Kernels players on the concourse from 1:20 to 1:40 pm. Mix 96.5 FM/WMT AM 600 Winning Wednesday: A lucky Kernels fan, age 18 and older, could win $10,000 on Winning Wednesday, when the Kernels perform a certain feat in an inning such as hit for the cycle as a team, or the shortstop makes all three outs in the inning.
100.7 The Fox Thirsty Thursday: 12 oz. draft beer is $1.50 all game and get bottled soda and water for $2.
Rock 108 FM Progressive Beer Friday: 16 oz. draft beer starts at $1 when the gates open and goes up $1 an hour until reaching full price.
Tickets for all Kernel home games are available on-line at www.kernels.com ; in person at the Kernels Ticket Office, or by calling 896-7560 during Ticket Office Hours. The Kernels Ticket Office is open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday. The ticket office is closed on Sunday, but opens at 11 am on Kernel Sunday Home games.
