Dayton, Ohio-Former Cincinnati Reds pitcher Doug Bair, who spent 15 years in the Major Leagues and appeared in 584 big league games, will serve as the guest television commentator Saturday, August 7th when the Dayton Dragons host the West Michigan Whitecaps at Fifth Third Field. The game can be seen on WHIO Digital Channel 7.2 (Channel 23 on Time Warner basic cable systems). Dragons Director of Broadcasting Tom Nichols will handle the play-by-play. The broadcast will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Bair, who served as Dragons pitching coach in 2007-'08, pitched in the Major Leagues from 1976-'90 with the Reds, Pirates, A's, Cardinals, Tigers, Phillies, and Blue Jays. His best season came with the Reds in 1978 under manager Sparky Anderson when he finished third in the National League in saves and posted a 1.97 earned run average in 70 games. Bair was a member of two World Series champions, with the Cardinals in 1982 and again with Anderson in 1984 with the Tigers. He also was a member of the Reds 1979 N.L. West Division championship club when he went 11-7 with 16 saves. The team featured three future hall-of-famers in Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, and Tom Seaver plus all-stars George Foster, Ken Griffey, Dave Concepcion, and Ray Knight as well as perennial Reds standouts Cesar Geronimo, Dan Driessen, Fred Norman, and Tom Hume.

The Dragons play at Lake County tonight at 7:00 p.m. They host West Michigan Saturday (7:00 p.m.), Sunday (4:00 p.m.), Monday (7:00 p.m.), and Tuesday (7:00 p.m.) at Fifth Third Field.
