
River Bandits lose four straight at home after falling 9-6 on Friday night

DAVENPORT, Iowa - The Quad Cities River Bandits fell for the fourth straight night at Modern Woodmen Park on Friday. Quad Cities fell behind 3-0 in the second, but the Bandits return fired with four in the bottom half but gave up the lead again in the third. The LumberKings scored two in the third to give them the 5-4 edge and they never looked back taking the game 9-6.
Despite striking out eight in just five innings, the Bandit starter Shelby Miller (5-5) was charged with his fifth loss of the season. Miller was touched for seven runs on nine hits. The LumberKings scored added two more when Dan Calhoun came in three innings of relief. Nick Greenwood threw a scoreless top of the ninth for Quad Cities. Yoervis Medina (1-0) picked up the win in his first outing with Clinton. Medina threw six innings and allowed four runs on seven hits while fanning nine.
Matt Adams led the way offensively for the Bandits with a 3-for-4 performance. Adams had a pair of doubles and scored a run in the contest. Freddy Parejo (9) went 2-for-3 with a home run, his ninth, and three RBI. Rainel Rosario (2) added his second homer of the season in the second when he drove a two-run shot into the Mississippi River.
The Bandits hit the road and head to Peoria to start a four-game series with the Chiefs. Joe Kelly (6-6) is scheduled to start for the River Bandits and he will face-off with fellow righty Brett Wallach (0-1). Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. at O'Brien Field in Peoria, Illinois.
