Your Cedar Rapids Kernels enter the final month of the 2014 regular season in the midst of a playoff chase and open a seven game home stand on Monday, August 4th with games against Wisconsin and Kane County. Here's a preview of what you can expect these next seven games:

August 4-6 vs. Wisconsin

The Kernels start a seven game home stand with three games against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Midwest League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.

The home stand kicks off on Monday, August 4th with Dollar Monday. Regular hot dogs, popcorn, ice cream sandwiches, chips and Cracker Jack are each just $1 every Monday home game. Plus, get $1 taquitos at the Hacienda Las Glorias / La Cantina Mexican Cart. Gates open at 5:30 pm and first pitch between the Kernels and Timber Rattlers is set for 6:35 pm.

The home stand continues on Tuesday, August 5th with Twins Tuesday, presented by Great Clips. Get an on-line coupon from the Kernels Facebook page or email newsletter for a 2 for 1 ticket offer at Tuesday home games as part of Twins Tuesday, presented by Great Clips. The Kernels will wear special retro jerseys that will be sold via a silent auction on August 29th. And one lucky fan will win a pair of tickets to a Twins game for the 2014 season. There will also be a special Mountain Dew Kickstart product sampling on the concourse during the game and the Kernels will honor retiring MWL President, George Spelius, in a ceremony before the game. Gates open at 5:30 pm and first pitch between the Kernels and Wisconsin is scheduled for 6:35 pm.

You'll want to be here when the gates open at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, August 6th as First Federal Credit Union will be giving $500 out at the main gates as part of Free Money Wednesday. First Federal Credit Union is giving out $500 at the main gates every Wednesday home game with the top cash prize of $100. First pitch between the Kernels and Timber Rattlers is set for 6:35 pm.

August 7-10 vs. Kane County

The Kernels continue a seven game home stand with four games against the Kane County Cougars, the Midwest League affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.

If you've every wanted to watch a game from the Plumbers & Pipefitters Pavilion, here's your chance! On Thursday, August 7th a section of the pavilion is open to the public. You'll enjoy an all you can eat and drink package for $26 and the food & drink starts at 6:00 pm and ends at 9:00 pm. If you already have a ticket for Thursday's game it's not a problem as you can upgrade at the Kernels Ticket office for just $16! It's also a Z 102.9 Thirsty Thursday and Little Caesar's College Night. Get 12 oz. regular draft beer or 20 oz. bottled soda and water for just $2, plus get $1 off margaritas at the Hacienda Las Glorias / La Cantina Mexican Cart. Fans that show their college ID at the Kernels Ticket Office can get a Club ticket and two slices of Little Caesar's pizza for just $7. Gates open at 5:30 pm and first pitch between the Kernels and Cougars is set for 6:35 pm.

Turtles on the half-shell, Turtle Power! It's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Theme Night on Friday, August 8th when the Kernels take on Kane County at 6:35 pm. The first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a FREE Kernels TMNT T-Shirt and Michaelangelo will be here for photos. After the game, enjoy a spectacular FIREWORKS show presented by Bank of the West. Bank of the West will also be giving away 1,000 drawstring backpacks at the main gates. And, it's a 98.1 KHAK Kernels Friday Mug Club. Buy a 16 oz. souvenir mug for just $6 and get it filled at the concession stands with regular draft beer or soda. Mug refills are just $3 all game and bring your mug back every Friday Kernels home game for $3 refills. It's Margaritaville on Saturday, August 9th for the Kernels annual Jimmy Buffett Night with a special 5:05 pm start time. The Kernels will wear special Hawaiian jerseys that will be sold via a silent auction during the game. The first 800 fans through the gates receive a free water bottle from Unity Point Health - St. Luke's. And, the game will be broadcast LIVE on KCRG 9.2. After the game, enjoy a concert by the Compass Rose Band, followed by FIREWORKS. Jimmy Buffett Night is VERY popular, and seating is already in short supply for this game! A busy home stand wraps up on Sunday, August 10th with Planet X Run the Bases Sunday and New Belgium Brewing Bike to the Ballpark. Ride your bike to the ballpark on Sunday and park it inside the stadium in our secure parking area. Just by riding your bike, you'll be entered for a chance to win a 2014 New Belgium Cruiser bike that will be given away during the game. As part of Planet X Run the Bases Sunday, fans can run the bases, play catch in the outfield and get autographs from the Kernels on the field after the game. Enjoy Papa Balloon, Face Painting by Kennedy and Magician Jackson Green on the concourse during the game. Play Travel Advisors Baseball Bingo for a chance to win a trip to Minneapolis and see the Twins play, and this is the LAST Sunday to qualify for the finals, which will be held during the game on August 17th. There will be a special pre-game ceremony for the 'Keep the Spirit of '45 Alive', which helps support the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight. A busy Sunday is on tap as the gates open at 1:00 pm and first pitch between the Kernels and Cougars is set for 2:05 pm.

Run the Bases Sunday, sponsored by Planet X: After every Sunday home game, kids (and adults) can run the bases, play catch on the field and get autographs from the Kernels, sponsored by Planet X with media sponsor 104.5 KDAT. During the game, play Travel Advisors Baseball Bingo, co-sponsored by the Radisson near Mall of America for a chance to win a trip to Minneapolis and see a Twins game. Enjoy the balloon artistry of Papa Balloon on the concourse and face painting by Kennedy. Magician Jackson Green will entertain at Sunday home games.

The Kernels Ticket Office is open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday. The ticket office is closed on Sunday, but opens at 11 am on Kernel Sunday Home games.
