Kernels and Swing rained out again
July 22, 2006 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
Once again Mother Nature interfered with the Kernels and the Swing trying to play two as Saturday's doubleheader was rained out.
The teams will try and play another doubleheader on Sunday starting at noon. Robert Mosebach (7-5) will pitch the first game for the Kernels and Brok Butcher (1-0) is scheduled to start the second game.
Because this is the last date that the Kernels and Quad Cities play this season, both teams will be one game short in the final standings - the most games the Kernels can now play in the second half is 69.
Both games can be heard on the internet at www.kernels.com, and in eastern Iowa on The Zone ESPN 1600 AM starting at 11:40 am with the South Slope Communications Pre-Game Show.
