Outfielder Jon Kemmer has been tabbed the Texas League Player of the Month for August, league president Tom Kayser announced this afternoon.

Kemmer hit .376 with 22 runs, 13 doubles, three triples, four home runs and 19 RBIs in 27 games during the month. The TL Postseason All-Star worked 13 walks against 13 strikeouts in 101 at-bats, logging an OPS of 1.145.

Kemmer enters tonight's opener vs. Frisco with a .327 batting average and .574 slugging percentage, which lead the Texas League. His home run total (18) and on-base average (.416) slot 2nd in the loop.

Since the calendar turned to May, Kemmer is among the Double-A leaders in OPS (1.015, 1st), home runs (18, 2nd), extra-base hits (48, 3rd) and total bases (197, 3rd). Kemmer follows Colin Moran, who was named Texas League Player of the Month for July.
