Kelowna Rockets Edge Tips in Everett for 4-2 Final

EVERETT, Wash. - The Kelowna Rockets narrowly edged the Everett Silvertips Friday night at Angel of the Winds Arena, taking a 4-2 score for their ninth win of the season.

Ben Hemmerling opened the scoring with a powerplay goal at 17:22 in the first period, cashing in a rebound for his eighth of the season.

Dylan Wightman brought the Rockets back even with a powerplay goal 59 seconds into the second, shortly followed by a go-ahead goal at 4:00 off the stick of Nolan Flamand.

Though Jackson Berezowski backhanded a shot through Talyn Boyko for his 13th goal of the season in his return to the lineup, Colton Dach once more gave the Rockets the lead before the second period's end with a shot from the left wing boards.

Max Graham tacked on an empty netter for a 4-2 final. Braden Holt stopped 34 of 37 in the loss. Boyko saved 29 of 31 for Kelowna.

The Silvertips are on the road Sunday night at 5 p.m. taking on the Spokane Chiefs. Live coverage begins at 4:30 p.m. on KRKO Radio. The Tips return home Saturday, Dec. 3 for a home matchup against the Portland Winterhawks. Tickets are available.
