NEWS & NOTES:

Last Game:. The Lethbridge Hurricanes edged the Brandon Wheat Kings 4-3 Friday night. The power play was the difference in the game with the Hurricanes scoring 3 out of their 4 opportunities. Tyson Laventure finished the game with two goals and an assist contributing on every special teams goal. The Wheat Kings would push back in the third period with a late goal from Calder Anderson to cut the lead but it wouldn't be enough. The Hurricanes win over the Wheat Kings would be their first victory since January 25th, 2020 when the Hurricanes won 6-5 in overtime.

Nov 26th VS Lethbridge: The Wheat Kings and Hurricanes conclude their doubleheader Saturday night in Brandon. This will be the final time the two teams go head to head in Brandon this season with only one game remaining in Lethbridge February 17th. The Wheat Kings may have a small lineup addition with the possibility of forward Zakhar Polshakov possibly returning. Polshkov left last week's game versus the Edmonton Oil Kings with an upper body injury. The Wheat Kings had Mason Ward return to the lineup Friday after missing 9 games with injury. The Wheat Kings still have several players on the shelf including Caleb Hadland, Zach Turner, Rylen Roersma and Ben Thornton.

100th Game: Last night's game was Logen Hammett's 100th career WHL game. Hammett, 19, was drafted in the 5th round of the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft. The Regina native has 3 career goals with 23 assists.
