Beloit Sky Carp News Release
The Snappers' Adam Hawes pitched into the 8th inning Sunday, but wasn't able to get enough run support to earn a victory. Timely hits were the key for Kane County who tallied 7 hits and 2 runs to beat Beloit.
Anthony Recker put the Cougars on the board with a first inning, one run single to center field. Recker went on to hit his 10th homer of the season in the 6th inning to earn his second RBI of the game. Jose Pineda also had two hits for the Cougars but was caught stealing in the 6th. The Snappers hit a total of three doubles including Erik Lis's 27th of the year. Juan Portes hit a two-out triple in the 4th inning but the Snappers were unable to hit him in. The Snappers were unable to capitalize on key opportunities, leaving runners in scoring position with two outs 5 times. Brad Kilby sat down the Snappers' last five hitters to earn his first save of the season
