Clinton LumberKings News Release
Lansing, MI -- Seven-year Major League veteran Wade Miller will make his third rehab start for the Peoria Chiefs Monday night, facing the Clinton LumberKings. The Chicago Cubs hurler will appear before a home crowd at O'Brien Field for the second time in 2006.
Originally drafted by the Houston Astros in 1996, Miller signed a free-agent deal with the Cubs this past offseason after pitching for the Boston Red Sox last year. He has yet to appear with the Cubs, but is 0-0 with a 1.29 ERA in seven total innings with Peoria this year. In the big leagues, he posts a career record of 62-43 with a 3.98 ERA.
Miller pitched three innings in a no-decision against the Quad Cities in his first rehab start back on June 22nd. He pitched a shutout against the Swing, limiting them to three hits in his Chiefs debut. His second rehab start came on the road at Wisconsin, as he allowed a run on four hits over four complete innings.
Lefthander Zach Phillips (2-5, 5.12) gets the start for Clinton. The first pitch from O'Brien Field is scheduled for 6:30 pm. Listen to the game live on AM 1340 KROS in Clinton, or over the web at www.lumberkings.com.
