February 13, 2011 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Toledo, OH- Led by a four-goal third period comeback, the Kalamazoo Wings moved into sole possession of second place in the North Division with a 6-3 victory Sunday night at the Huntington Center versus the Toledo Walleye.

Cycling the puck in the Walleye zone, Brian McGuirk found Aaron Clarke (12th) for a one-timer to give the K-Wings the lead 6:48 into the opening period. The assist from McGuirk snapped an 18-game scoreless streak for the forward.

Toledo pulled even 12:17 into the period, when Willie Coetzee (5th) knocked in a Dominic Osman rebound; however, the momentum for the Walleye would be short lived. On the ensuing face-off, Darryl Lloyd stole the puck in the Walleye zone and found Andrew Fournier for his team-leading 25th goal of the season.

Randy Rowe (15th) scored on a wrister just 53 seconds into the second period to tie the game at 2-2. Later in the period, the Walleye earned their lone lead of the night on a rebound marker from Christopher DiDomenico (3rd).

Taking control in the third period, Kalamazoo tied the game at 3-3, when Justin Taylor (21st) redirected a Patrick Asselin slap shot 9:34 into the period.

Causing a turnover near the Walleye net, the K-Wings reclaimed the lead for good with 4:19 remaining in regulation on Fournier's (26th) second of the night and his team-leading fifth game-winner of the season.

Adding some insurance late, the K-Wings tacked on two more goals, a power-play marker from Jon Landry (4th) and an empty-netter from Trent Daavettila (19th). Three of Landry's four goals this season have come against the Walleye.

The K-Wings will return to Wings Stadium for a 7 p.m. face-off tomorrow night, Monday, February 14th during the 11th Annual Pink Ice Game, presented by WWMT and WKFR versus the Wheeling Nailers. The pink ice game is always the largest wedding in southwest Michigan. Tying the knot this year will be Brenda Phillips and William Godfrey.
