K-Wings to Celebrate 10th Annual Teddy Bear Toss Night This Saturday

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, announce that the 10th Annual Teddy Bear Toss Night presented by WKFR will occur this Saturday, December 12th, when the K-Wings host the Wheeling Nailers at 7:30 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used teddy bear or other stuffed animal to the December 12th game. After the K-Wings score their first goal, all fans will be allowed to throw their bears onto the ice.

A majority of the bears collected will be donated to Salvation Army. The remaining bears will be delivered by Kalamazoo Wings players, Slappy and Santa Claus to patients of The Children's Hospital at Bronson on Monday, December 14th at 1 p.m.

Over the past nine years, the K-Wings have collected thousands of stuffed animals that were distributed to children during the holidays.

Saturday's contest will be the third-leg of an eight-game home stand for the K-Wings. Kalamazoo will also be home this Friday, December 11th with a 7:30 p.m. face-off against the Toledo Walleye on Frugal Fan Friday ($1 beer, $1 hot dogs) and B-93 Night featuring CMT's "Can You Duet," Season Two winners Steel Magnolia.

Tickets for all K-Wing home games are currently available at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office. Regular business hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fans can also purchase seats from the comfort of home or work by logging onto www.ticketmaster.com.
