Hoffman and Hartlieb Called up to American League

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades forwards Ernie Hartlieb and Mike Hoffman have been called up toe the American Hockey League. The Everblades also announced that they have signed veteran forward Paul Healey to a contract.

Forward Ernie Hartlieb received his second promotion to the American Hockey League this season. Hartlieb, in his sixth season with Florida, was loaned to the Rochester Americans on November 6. He appeared in one game with the Amerks this season and scored a goal. The Warren, Michigan native currently ranks third on the 'Blades in scoring (5-11=16) and has posted 34 penalty minutes this season in 25 games played.

Big forward Mike Hoffman earns his first promotion of the season to the American Hockey League. The big forward was loaned to the Hartford Wolfpack. He has skated in 12 games with the Everblades this season chipping in one assist with 31 penalty minutes. Hoffman has played for six American Hockey League teams over the last five seasons including Worcester, Portland, Manchester, Cleveland, Toronto and Chicago.

To fill some of the void of losing Hartlieb and Hoffman, the Everblades have signed veteran forward Paul Healey. The 14-year professional has appeared in 77 games in the National Hockey League with Philadelphia (1996-98), Toronto (2001-03), New York Rangers (2003-04) and Colorado (2005-06). He tallied six goals and 20 points with 44 minutes in penalties. He also appeared in 22 playoff battles with the Maple Leafs from 2001-03 (see full statistics below).

Florida Everblades Hockey - Serious Hockey...Serious Fun! The 'Blades try to make it three straight over the Checkers on Friday night. Fans who bring a canned food item to the game receive a FREE ticket voucher to the Florida College Classic, plus it's Mac & Cheese night at Germain Arena! Finally on Saturday, it's the annual Teddy Bear Toss. Bring a teddy bear to the game and throw it on the ice after the 'Blades first goal and those teddy bears will be collected and given to the Southwest Children's Hospital.
