
Justin Toole Inked by Cleveland Indians

SIOUX CITY, IA - The Sioux City Explorers announced today that The Cleveland Indians have purchased the contract of INF Justin Toole. Toole will report to the Indian's Single A affiliate (Mahoning Valley Scrappers) in Niles, OH, a member of the New York Penn League. Â Toole, joined the Sioux City Explorers on June 26th and in (8) games with the X's, Toole has posted a .346 batting average in (26) at bats. Toole is a recent graduate of the University of Iowa and in his senior season with the Hawkeye's, Toole accumulated a .346 batting average while collecting (13) doubles, (15) stolen bases, (25) RBI's, to go along with a .420 on-base percentage.
"Cleveland is getting a very hard working player with a great glove and a strong arm," comments manager Les Lancaster".
The Council Bluffs, IA native attended Lewis Central High School where he was named the 2005 BCA/Louisville Slugger Iowa Player of the year while also being named the Bob Feller class 4A pitcher of the year. While at Lewis Central, Toole accumulated a career .420 batting average, collected 102 RBI's, stole 103 bases, and had a 35-5 pitching record with a miniscule 0.88 ERA while collecting 432 strikeouts.
