
Wingnuts open second half with loss

Wichita Wingnuts News Release
Wichita, KS- The Wingnuts opened the second half of the season with a 4-1 loss to the St. Paul Saints on Monday night at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.
St. Paul took a 2-0 lead in the second on a solo home run by Brent Krause and added a run thanks to a Wichita error. The Wingnuts got one back in the second when Michael Thompson singled home Stephen Pearson. Thompson and Greg Porter finished the night 3-4 for Wichita.
St. Paul added two more runs in the seventh with RBI going to Jeff Eure and Andrew Schmiesing. Eure reached base in all four plate appearances. Brandon Kintzler earned the win for St. Paul, going seven strong innings, while Kerry Ligtenberg recorded his 10th save of the season.
The Wingnuts and Saints will do battle again on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. Gabe Medina will get the start for Wichita. For tickets call the Wingnuts office at (316) 264-4625.
