FLORENCE FREEDOM (14-22) @ WINDY CITY THUNDERBOLTS (14-20)

Saturday, June 27, 2015 - 7:05 p.m. ET

Game #37 - Road Game #13 (14-22), (4-8)

RHP #22 Coleman Stephens (2-4, 4.85 ERA) vs. LHP #24 Danny Jimenez (2-2, 3.38 ERA)

Last time out...

Washington plated four runs in the first inning off Freedom starter Ryan Davis (0-1) as Florence fell 4-2 on Thursday. With the bases loaded and nobody out, Carter Bell delivered a sacrifice fly. Scott Kalamar followed with a three-run home run to put the Wild Things up 4-0. Davis settled down after that, going five innings in his Freedom debut. But Florence's offense could not do enough against Washington pitching as Wild Things starter Kyle Helisek (3-2) went six innings, allowing only one run on four hits to pick up the victory. Travis Weaver doubled to start to the third inning. He went to third on a Zack Burling fly out and scored on a Justin Harris grounder to cut the deficit to 4-1. The Freedom tallied another run in the eighth on a Collins Cuthrell RBI single to score Daniel Fraga. With runners at first and second and one out, down 4-2, Sam Eberle lined into a double play, ending the frame. Jonathan Kountis picked up the save with a scoreless ninth.

For Starters...

Coleman Stephens is looking for his first win since May 19. He is coming off a loss to the Southern Illinois Miners where he surrendered four runs on five hits over five innings in a 4-0 defeat. Stephens has seen his run support steadily decline since a 5-1 win on May 19. Since then the Freedom have lost 8-4, 8-3, 3-2, 8-1 and 4-0 in his starts. 2015 is his fourth season of professional baseball and his second go-around in the Frontier League. Florence acquired Stephens as part of a three-team trade on December 28, 2014, which saw Jacob Tanis head to Windy City. The right-hander made his professional debut in 2012 with the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings of the North American Baseball League. Stephens split the 2013 season between the Fort Worth Cats of the United League and the Frontier Greys, compiling an 8-3 record in 20 appearances, 18 starts. Last season, Stephens played in the American Association, splitting time between Amarillo and Gary.

Away from home...

The Freedom won their most recent road series against the Lake Erie Crushers, taking two of three. It was their first road series win of 2015. Florence currently is 4-8 at home. They dropped two of three to Gateway and River City and got swept by Evansville earlier this season. Last year Florence won only two road series.

Against the ThunderBolts...

The Freedom had a lot of success last year against Windy City, finishing the season 6-3 against the ThunderBolts. However, they were only 1-2 at Standard Bank Stadium. Florence got no-hit in two of their three losses last year to Windy City.

To open...

The Freedom have struggled to start series, going 3-9 in series openers so far in 2015.

History in the making...

Wednesday's no-hitter tossed by Casey Henn against Washington was the second in Freedom history (Preston Vancil, 2009). It also marks the second no-hitter in the Frontier League in 2015 (Matt Bywater of Southern tossed one against Evansville earlier this year) and the 26th in league history.

Score five or more...

When the Freedom score five or more runs in a game they have a record of 12-2 on the season. But they are only 2-20 when scoring fewer than five runs.

Hold that lead...

When the Freedom have the lead after six innings they have a record of 9-1 on the year. However they are only 1-19 when trailing after six.

Walk it out...

The Freedom have drawn 142 walks, the most in the league.

Run this way...

The Freedom's 67 stolen bases this season are the most in the Frontier League. However they have also been caught stealing 26 times, the most in the league as well.

Transaction Wire...

The Freedom released OF Sean Mahley yesterday and signed OF Andrew Godbold.
