ICYMI: Joey Meneses was 4-for-5 with two doubles, a home run and a career high five RBI in a 14-6 series opening victory for the Mudcats in Lynchburg on Monday night. Braxton Davidson was 3-for-4 with a triple and Stephen Gaylor, Keith Curcio and Joseph Odom each had two hits while helping Carolina win its fourth straight game.

ABOUT THE LAST ONE: The Mudcats scored seven or more runs in a game for the third straight game after defeating the Hillcats 14-6 last night in Lynchburg. The streak of three straight with at least seven runs scored in a game is the first for the Mudcats this season. They previously had scored six or more in back-to-back games just one other time this year (6/5, 6/6). Carolina has scored six or more runs in a game 10 times this season and is 8-2 when scoring six plus.

ON TO THE NEXT ONE: The Mudcats continue a three-day road trip in Lynchburg tonight with a doubleheader and games two and three of a four game series against the Hillcats at City Stadium. The Mudcats won last night 14-6 and are 5-6 against the Hillcats this season. The Mudcats enter tonight's game at 27-34 this season and in third place in the Carolina League Southern Division Standings. The Hillcats are 40-23 and clinched the Northern Division First Half Championship on Sunday with a 3-2 home victory against Myrtle Beach. It was Lynchburg's second straight half championship (2015 Second Half Champions).

STARTING OFF: Ryan Clark and Zack Bird will start for the Mudcats in games one and two of tonight's doubleheader in Lynchburg. Clark is 0-7 with a 5.85 ERA this season and last pitched on 6/9 at home against the Dash. He turned in his third straight quality start his last time out (6.0ip, 4h, 3r, 3er, 1hr, 1bb, 2so), but suffered his fourth straight loss after Winston-Salem defeated Carolina 3-2. Clark is currently tied for the Carolina League lead in losses (7) and leads the league in most runs allowed (44). Bird has appeared in 16 games out of the bullpen this season and will make his first start of the season tonight. He is 2-1 and has pitched to a 7.61 ERA this season over 23.2 innings pitched. He started the season with a 4.50 ERA over six games (10ip, 5er, 8bb, 7so) before allowing 11 ER over two games between 5/3 and 5/7.

MASHING MENESES: Joey Meneses was 4-for-5 with two doubles, a home run and a career high five RBI last night. He is batting .576/.600/.909 over his last eight games with six doubles, one triple, one home run and 12 RBI. Meneses is also batting a league best .378 since April 23 (.378/.434/.573, 44g, 62h, 21xbh, 15 2b, 1 3b, 5hr, 31rbi). He was named the Carolina League Player of the Week for the week ending on June 12 on June 13.
