JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp opened their six-game set against the Gwinnett Stripers with a 7-0 loss Tuesday night from 121 Financial Ballpark.

With a wire-to-wire victory, Gwinnett (28-27) opened the scoring in the top of the second. Joe Dunand and Braden Shewmake started the inning with back-to-back singles. Hernán Pérez grounded out but both runners advanced to second and third. They then scored on a single from Chadwick Tromp to give the Stripers a 2-0 lead. Delino DeShields Jr. walked and Tromp went to second. Two batters later, a Drew Waters single coupled with an error allowed Tromp to score from second, giving Gwinnett a 3-0 advantage.

Waters started the top of the fifth inning with a single out to left field. Phil Gosselin doubled, and Waters scored from second on a fielding error on the same play, setting the score 4-0. A double by Dunand scored Gosselin, and Shewmake followed with another RBI double to make the score 6-0.

In the top of the 6th inning, Waters smashed a home run, giving Gwinnett their final tally, 7-0.

Jacksonville (28-27) struggled to get the bats going as they were no-hit through the first 7.1 innings. With one out, Bryson Brigman laced a double to end the Stripers' no-hit bid.
