(LOUISVILLE, KY) -Charlotte left fielder Micker Adolfo homered in his second consecutive game, but the Charlotte Knights dropped the opening game of a six-game series against the Louisville Bats by a score of 7-3 on Tuesday night from Louisville Slugger Field. Adolfo's solo home run came in the top of the fifth inning.

The Knights scored first in Tuesday's game with help from center fielder Adam Haseley, who drove home the game's first run in the top of the second inning on a sacrifice fly. In the bottom of the second inning, the Louisville offense tacked on four runs against RHP Jimmy Lambert (0-3, 9.24), who started for the Knights and was charged with the loss. Lambert allowed two home runs in the second inning and was charged with four runs on six hits over just two innings. Louisville designated hitter Max Schrock hit a solo home run and catcher Mark Kolozsvary followed with a three-run home run.

Down by a score of 4-1 after two innings, the Bats once again used the long ball against the Knights to add to the game one lead. Right fielder Juniel Quercuto hit a solo home run to make it a 5-1 Louisville lead in the fourth inning.

In the top of the fifth inning, Adolfo, who entered the game in the bottom of the third for Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jiménez, launched a solo home run, his fifth of the season with the Knights. The team added a third and final run of the game in the inning thanks to a bases-loaded walk to Haseley.

Jiménez, who started in left field and played two innings in the field on Tuesday during his rehab assignment with the Knights, went 1-for-2 at the plate. He singled in his first at-bat of the night in the first inning.

The Bats added two more runs in the bottom of the seventh inning on a Jonathan India two-run single, which put the lead to 7-3.

The Knights will continue the six-game series against the Louisville Bats from Louisville Slugger Field on Wednesday night. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. The "Voice of the Charlotte Knights" Matt Swierad will have the call for all of the action on 730 The Game and www.CharlotteKnights.com.
