LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Cincinnati Reds today announced that Reds second baseman Jonathan India and infielder Donovan Solano will begin MLB rehabilitation assignments with Louisville tonight (Tuesday, June 7) at Louisville Slugger Field. The Bats will take on the Charlotte Knights on Muhammad Ali Night, as the Bats honor The Champ throughout the game, with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m.

India, 25, was placed on the Injured List on April 30 with a right hamstring injury. He has yet to play in a rehab game since the transaction and will make his Triple-A debut when he plays for the Bats.

Solano, 34, was placed on the Injured List on April 4 with a left hamstring strain. He was transferred to the 60-Day IL on May 23 and will make his Reds organizational debut when he plays for the Bats.

India was drafted by Cincinnati with the fifth overall pick of the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft. He made his Major League debut last year with Cincinnati, hitting .269 with 21 home runs, 34 doubles and 69 RBI in 150 games. India also reached base at a .376 clip en route to winning the National League Rookie of the Year award. India was the first Red to win NL Rookie of the Year since Scott Williamson in 1999. He last played in minor league games in 2019, spending 121 games between High-A Daytona and Double-A Chattanooga. When he plays for the Bats, he will make his Bats and Triple-A debuts.

Solano signed with the Reds as a free agent on March 20 and has yet to play a game in the organization after hitting the Injured List before the season. He spent the previous three seasons with the San Francisco Giants and has played in over 600 career Major League games, also including time with the Miami Marlins and New York Yankees. With the Giants, Solano won the 2020 Silver Slugger Award for National League second basemen. The award recognizes the best hitter at each position in each league. In 54 games in 2020, Solano finished fifth in the NL with a .326 batting average and fourth with 15 doubles.
