UC Health Stadium - Florence, KY

Game #58 - Home Game #34 (27-30), (14-19)

Last time out...

The Freedom dropped a 6-2 decision to Rockford in the second game of a day/night doubleheader. Rockford's three runs in the second inning proved to be enough as they got a RBI single from Collin Shaw and a RBI fielder's choice from Tyler Smith. A Freedom error allowed an additional run to score. They tacked on one more in the fifth and two insurances runs in the top of the ninth. In the ninth, Zac Mitchell singled to spark a one out rally. Collins Cuthrell reached on an error to set up runners on the corners. Andrew Godbold singled to drive in Mitchell for Florence's first run of the game. Sam Eberle beat out an infield single to load the bases. Kyle Carter sliced a fly ball down the left field line that Anthony Renteria tracked down for out number two. Carter's fly ball drove in Cuthrell for the second run of the game, but Florence would get no closer as Matt Rubino struck out looking to end the game. Chuck Weaver took the loss despite throwing a complete game.

For Starters...

He has won back-to-back starts including a career-high 13 strikeouts in his most recent outing July 19 against Traverse City.
