
Julius Miettinen Earns WHL Rookie of the Week

EVERETT, Wash. - Julius Miettinen has been named WHL Rookie of the Week for the week of Oct. 23-29.
Miettinen, an '06-born Finnish center, appeared in three games over the course of the week, recording points in all three. He netted a goal with two primary assists on Wednesday, Oct. 25 in a 6-2 win over Tri-City, followed up by a crucial assist on the game-tying goal with 16 seconds remaining in regulation time Friday, Oct. 27 vs Wenatchee. He also logged an assist on a go-ahead goal in Spokane on Saturday, Oct. 28 to complete a five-point week.
Julius Miettinen and Tarin Smith have been named Players to Watch by the NHL Central Scouting Service ahead of the 2024 NHL Draft!
The 6-foot-3, 203-pound forward was named to the NHL Central Scouting Players to Watch list last week. Assessed a "C" rating, Miettinen is projected to be a 4th- or 5th-round pick in next summer's NHL Draft.
