Tri-City Americans News Release
Kennewick, WA - Tri-City Americans general manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has acquired 2004-born goaltender Kyle Kelsey from the Red Deer Rebels in exchange for a 2024 fourth-round pick and a 2025 second-round pick.
Kelsey, from Maple Ridge, B.C., was drafted by the Moose Jaw Warriors 109th overall in the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft. The six-foot-one and 180-pound netminder is in his second season in the WHL after joining the Rebels last year. In the 2022-23 season, Kelsey went 21-11-2-3 with a .907 save percentage and 2.64 goals against average, to go along with four shutouts.
"Kyle is an experienced WHL goaltender who will provide tremendous depth to our goaltending position," stated Tory.
In six games with the Rebels this year Kelsey is 2-3-0-1 with a .917 save percentage and 2.49 goals against average.
The Americans would like to welcome Kelsey to the organization.
