RENO - The Reno Aces (@Aces), in conjunction with the Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks), have announced that right-handed pitcher Josh Collmenter will begin a rehab assignment tonight against the Iowa Cubs at Greater Nevada Field.

Collmenter, 30, was selected by the D-backs in the 15th round (463rd overall) of the 2007 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Central Michigan University. The right-hander made his Major League debut on April 17, 2011, and has pitched for Arizona for the past five seasons. Collmenter has a career record of 35-33 in 185 games (75 starts) for Arizona, compiling a 3.49 ERA with 443 strikeouts in 637 innings.

In seven Minor League seasons including his recent rehab assignment with Single-A Advanced Visalia, Collmenter has compiled a career record of 41-28 with a 3.54 ERA and 489 strikeouts in 530 2/3 innings over 100 games (98 starts). Collmenter was named a midseason All-Star in 2009 with Visalia (California League) and in 2010 with Mobile (Southern League). In 11 starts for Reno in 2010-11, he went 5-3 with a 5.37 ERA and 46 strikeouts in 63 2/3 innings.

Collmenter is the first player to join the Aces on a rehab assignment this season. Six players saw action for Reno while on the D-backs' disabled list in 2015, including pitchers Archie Bradley and Jeremy Hellickson and position players Phil Gosselin, Oscar Hernandez, Gerald Laird and Jake Lamb.

The Aces begin an eight-game, nine-day homestand tonight with the opener of a four-game series against Iowa. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. PT. Ticket packages are on-sale now at www.renoaces.com or by calling (775) 334-4700. Follow the club all season long on Twitter (@Aces) or like the team on Facebook.
