SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 20, 2015) - The San Antonio Spurs announced today the launch of the Spurs Challenge presented by BBVA Compass. The Spurs Challenge second screen platform is accessible via the Official Spurs Mobile App and allows fans the unique opportunity to play real-time interactive games on mobile devices as a companion to the Spurs game viewing experience. Participants with the highest scores will have a chance to win exclusive Spurs memorabilia and bragging rights. Superlative Spurs Challenge contributors will be featured on the leaderboard and highlighted on Spurs social media and TV broadcasts.
"We have the best fans in the NBA and they have an insatiable appetite for Spurs content," said James Chandler, Senior Digital Manager for Spurs Sports & Entertainment. "The Spurs Challenge is a new digital platform that allows us to provide fans with another level of engagement to accompany the game viewing experience. This is an opportunity to deepen our interaction with fans in a new and meaningful way."
Spurs Challenge interactive games include:
- Shoot To Win - Predict where the first shot of each quarter will come from on the court
- Player Pick "ËEm - Select which Spurs player will lead a particular statistical category
- Team Trivia - Trivia on Spurs players, team history, and the city of San Antonio
- Guess the Stats - Predict what the halftime and final score will be
The Official Spurs Mobile App also provides fans the ability to improve their seats at the AT&T Center through the Spurs Experience mobile upgrade program. Fans that register will receive a text message notification during select games if upgrades are available and will be able to select seats and purchase upgrades directly from their phone, allowing them a chance to catch the action from the best seats available at the AT&T Center.
