Porter's Career Night Not Enough to Hold off Austin

RENO, Nev., Feb. 19, 2015- Despite Tajuan Porter logging a double-double and the Bighorns leading the majority of the game, the Bighorns fell to the Austin Spurs 147-142 Thursday night at the Reno Events Center.

Tajuan Porter paced the Bighorns with his career high 41 points and 13 assists. David Wear and Jordan Hamilton had 21 points each. Hamilton tallied 12 points and 10 assists, while Wear added five rebounds and six assists for the Bighorns. Ra'shad James finished with 18 points and three assists. Hamilton recorded his second triple-double of the season.

Bryce Cotton led the Spurs with 43 points, eight rebounds and nine assists. On assignment from the San Antonio Spurs, Kyle Anderson notched a double-double with 29 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Porter led the Bighorns in the first quarter with 14 points and three assists, going 5-7 from the field. James had eight points and two assists in the quarter. The Bighorns shot 58.6% from the field in the quarter compared to the Spur's 48.4%.

During the second quarter, Porter led the Bighorns again with eight points and two assists. Hamilton tallied six points and four rebounds while Sim Bhullar had five points and three rebounds in the quarter.

The Bighorns went into the locker room at the half leading the Spurs 76-68.

The Bighorns shot 53.6% from the field during the first half compared to the Spur's 45.9%, while Porter shot 4-11 from the field and 4-6 from behind the arc.

In the third quarter, Porter totaled 12 points and six assists. Hamilton tallied seven points and three assists while Wear, Bhullar and James had five points each.

During the final quarter, Porter had seven points and two assists. Wear notched six points and two assists. Bhullar totaled five points in the quarter.

The Bighorns return home this weekend with a two-game homestand Saturday, Feb. 21 to face the Santa Cruz Warriors at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. to take on the Los Angeles D-Fenders for Kings Affiliate Night at the Reno Events Center.
