(Lancaster, Penn., July 15, 2015) - The Long Island Ducks defeated the Lancaster Barnstormers 5-0 on Wednesday night in the third game of a four-game series at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

The Ducks broke through for the game's first runs in the fifth off of Lancaster starter Joe Gardner. After an error from Barnstormers shortstop Lance Zawadzki to start the frame, Long Island put together three straight two-out hits. Prentice Redman's RBI double and Bryan Sabatella's RBI single made it 2-0 Ducks.

Jon Griffin extended the lead to 4-0 in the sixth with a two-run homer to right field. Mike Blanke reached on an error at first base in the eighth that scored Griffin and made it 5-0 Long Island. Lancaster was unable to respond.

Ducks starter John Brownell (7-2) earned the win for Long Island, throwing nine shutout innings for a complete game. He allowed four hits and two walks while striking out five. Gardner (3-2) suffered the loss for Lancaster, giving up four runs (two earned) on six hits. He walked two and struck out four in seven innings. Scott Patterson allowed one run in two-thirds of an inning before Nate Reed pitched the final inning and one-third.

Griffin led the Ducks offensively with two hits including the two-run homer. He and Puckett each finished with a pair of runs.

The Ducks conclude their four-game series with the Lancaster Barnstormers on Thursday night. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. from Clipper Magazine Stadium. Righty Bobby Blevins will toe the rubber for the Ducks against a Lancaster starter that has yet to be announced. It's the Ducks Game of the Week, and fans can follow all of the action live on the Ducks' flagship radio station 103.9-FM LI News Radio.

Long Island returns home on Friday, July 17 to open up a three-game set against the Patriots. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35 (5:20 for full season ticket holders). The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive Ducks Logo T-Shirts, courtesy of the YMCA of Long Island. It will also be a Fowl Pole, Pizza Hut K-Man and Air Trampoline Sports Friday at the ballpark.
