John Klingberg Called up to NHL's Dallas Stars

CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars, announced today rookie defenseman John Klingberg has been called up Dallas.

Klingberg, 22, is currently second amongst both AHL defensemen and rookies with 12 points (four goals, eight assists) in 10 games played for Texas. His four goals on the season are tied for second on the team and his +5 plus/minus rating is second. He has posted at least one point in six of his last seven games posting 11 points during that span (three goals, eight assists).

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound native of Gothenburg, Sweden was selected by Dallas in the fifth round (131st overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft.
