John Curry becomes 36th former Nailer to play in NHL

WHEELING, WV - Former Wheeling Nailers goalie John Curry made his NHL debut Wednesday night with the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League. Curry posted a 5-3 win over the NY Islanders to earn his first NHL victory.

Originally signed by the Penguins in July of 2007, Curry has spent a majority of his two professional seasons between the ECHL and the American Hockey League. Curry, 24, appeared in 1 ECHL game with the Nailers in 2007.

John becomes the 36th former Nailer to play in the NHL .

The Wheeling Nailers host the Elmira Jackals on Hall of Fame night Saturday November 29th. Face-off is set for 7:35 pm. The first 2500 fans will receive a Darren Schwartz bobble head. Call 304-234-4625 to order tickets.
