Joel Martin Recalled to AHL's Sound Tigers

ODESSA, TX - Odessa Jackalopes goaltender, Joel Martin, is heading back to the American Hockey League. Today the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers recalled Martin, who began the season in Bridgeport after attending training camp with the NHL's New York Islanders.

Bridgeport is the top affiliate of the Islanders and the parent club to the Jackalopes.

Martin is set to report immediately to Bridgeport. This season with Odessa, Martin is carrying a 3.61 GAA and a .888 SV% with a 10-9-0 record. His 10 wins are tied for ninth in the Central Hockey League.

The Jackalopes also have signed defenseman Kevin Seibel to their roster. Seibel spent time with the Tulsa Oilers and Texas Brahmas over the last two seasons. This year, Seibel began the season with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs appearing in 17 games while scoring a goal and two assists.

The Jackalopes visit the Texas Brahmas this weekend for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday. Game time on both nights is 7:30 PM CST.

The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The team is currently in the middle of its 14th season.
