Dayton Gems Add Matt Miller in Trade with Mississippi

DAYTON, OH - The Dayton Gems acquired Matt Miller in a trade with the Mississippi RiverKings on Wednesday, January 5.

The Gems acquired Miller from the RiverKings in exchange for financial considerations.

This season, Miller has played in 31 games with the RiverKings and recorded four goals and nine assists while taking 60 shots on goal.

This will be Miller's third team since January of 2010. Last season he played with the Cardiff Devils in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). He scored 24 goals while recording 49 points in 56 games. Miller also spent 153 minutes in the penalty box. He was traded to the RiverKings during the offseason.

Miller spent time in the CHL prior to joining Mississippi. In 2008-2009, Miller was with the Rapid City Rush and the Laredo Bucks. He also spent time with the Amarillo Gorillas from 2006-2008.

Miller recorded a career-high 24 goals last season and matched his career high in assists (25). In 2007-2008 Miller spent a career high 162 minutes in the penalty box.
