Allen Remains on Top of Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll

TEMPE, AZanuary 5, 2011) - For the second consecutive poll and for the third time this season, the Allen Americans have been voted the #1 team in the Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll. The Americans are tops in the league with a 23-6-1 record and 47 points. The Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll is released on or near the beginning and middle of each month throughout the regular season. Each first place vote receives 10 points, second place votes earn nine points, etc.

The remainder of the top three remained intact as well with Bossier-Shreveport sitting #2 and the Colorado Eagles perched at #3. Allen received 16 first place votes and the Eagles earned the other two first place nods (teams are unable to vote for themselves).

The team making the biggest move is the Missouri Mavericks who jump up three spots from #7 to #4 and the Rapid City Rush round out the top five.

Two teams have made their way onto the latest rankings, the Odessa Jackalopes and the Quad City Mallards. The Jacks are #8 and the Flock are #9 on the latest list. The two teams dropping out are the Wichita Thunder and the Tulsa Oilers.
