Allenââ¬â¢s Yellow Horn and Rio Grande Valleyââ¬â¢s Lewicki Named to All-Star Team
January 5, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release
TEMPE, AZ (January 5, 2011) -The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Allen American ¬â¢s forward Colton Yellow Horn and Rio Grande Valley Killer Bee forward Aaron Lewicki have been added to the CHL All-Star Team roster for the upcoming 2011 CHL All-Star Game, scheduled for Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Arena in Rapid City, South Dakota (face-off is set for 6:35 PM MST). The game ¬â¢s format will feature the host Rapid City Rush (the defending CHL Champions) taking on a team of CHL All-Stars.
Yellow Horn will replace teammate Bruce Graham on the roster as the two-time all-star is unable to attend for personal reasons. Yellow Horn has 11 goals and 21 assists in 30 games this season. The 5-6, 174-pound forward was a member of the Americans 2010 Southern Conference Championship team when he had 35 points (10-25=35) during the regular season and turned it on in the post-season with 10 goals and 10 assists in 20 games played.
Lewicki will replace fellow Killer Bee Darcy Campbell who is unable to play due to injury. Lewicki has 12 goals and 12 assists in 29 games this season and on December 27 was called-up by the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League for their game that night.
Campbell was voted to start the game for the CHL All-Stars but his absence has opened the door for Allen defenseman David Strathman to start the game in his place. Strathman was named to the team originally as a reserve and has 21 points (8-13=21) in 30 games this season.
Strathman joins Mississippi ¬â¢s Nathan Lutz as a starter on the blue line with Odessa ¬â¢s Sebastien Thinel, Bossier-Shreveport ¬â¢s David Rutherford and Laredo ¬â¢s Neil Trimm starting at forwards and Colorado ¬â¢s Kyle Jones starting between the pipes for the CHL All-Star Team.
