Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

Various media sources have indicated that Jimmy Rollins may rehab in Lakewood with the BlueClaws as early as Thursday.

Rollins, who won the NL MVP Award last season with the Phillies, was placed on the disabled list with a sprained ankle earlier this month and is eligible to rejoin Philadelphia on Monday, May 5 in Arizona.

If Rollins does make a rehab appearance with the BlueClaws, it would be the second straight season the reigning NL MVP would join the club. Ryan Howard made a pair of starts last season in Lakewood. Over 16,000 fans visited FirstEnergy Park to watch Howard in the two games in 2007.

Reports indicate that Rollins could join the team as soon as Thursday, when the BlueClaws host the Kannapolis Intimidators at 6:35 p.m. and could stay through the weekend. The BlueClaws host Kannapolis on Friday at 7:05 p.m., before welcoming Lexington on Saturday at 4:05 p.m. and on Sunday at 1:05 p.m.

Seats are available for all seven remaining games of the BlueClaws home stand, which began on Tuesday. Tickets can be purchased online at BlueClaws.com, over the phone at (732) 901-7000 and in-person at the FirstEnergy Park ticket office.
