Asheville Tourists News Release

Asheville Tourists infielder Spence Nagy has decided to retire from professional baseball in order to return to his homestate of Florida and finish his education. The Colorado Rockies' 13th-round draft pick in 2006 out of Tallahassee Community College, Nagy hit .190 with the Tourists during the 2007 slate. He had played all four infield positions in 12 games with Asheville this season and hit .147 with a home run and two RBIs in 34 at-bats.

The Rockies have not added a player to the Tourists' 25-man roster to replace Nagy. Asheville is currently in the midst of a four-game series at Columbus. The Tourists return home to McCormick Field on Saturday, May 3, against the Savannah Sand Gnats.
