Jesse Root Released from ATO

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (April 14, 2014) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that forward Jesse Root has been released from his amateur tryout contract (ATO).

Root, 24, signed an ATO with the Sound Tigers on March 18. He scored his first pro goal in his first professional game on March 19 against Hartford. He had completed a four-year career at Yale University (ECAC). He finished his collegiate career with 92 points (35 goals, 57 assists) in 122 games. Root had a very strong senior year in which he had 37 points (14 goals, 23 assists) and led the Bulldogs in scoring.
