
Fournier Reassigned to Bulldogs from Nailers

MONTREAL, QUEBEC - Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have reassigned forward Stefan Fournier to the Bulldogs from the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers.
Fournier has split this season between the Bulldogs and Nailers. In 40 games with Hamilton, the 6'3", 212-pound forward has recorded seven points (two goals, five assists) and 86 penalty minutes. In one game with Wheeling, the 21-year-old has recorded no points and no penalty minutes.
Before turning professional this season, Fournier played five seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2008-2013 with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, Lewiston Maineiacs, Victoriaville Tigres and Halifax Mooseheads. In 289 career QMJHL regular season games, he recorded 212 points (101 goals, 111 assists) and 337 penalty minutes. The Dorval, Quebec native capped off his junior career last season by co-captaining the Mooseheads to a Canadian Hockey League Memorial Cup championship.
Fournier was signed as a free agent by the Canadiens to a three-year contract on July 6th, 2013.
Hamilton's next game is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15th when the 'Dogs will visit the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche) at Quicken Loans Arena at 7:00 p.m. The Bulldogs will return to FirstOntario Centre on Saturday, April 19th, when they will host the Syracuse Crunch (AHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning) at 7:00 p.m.
