Capitals Re-Assign Brouillette and LeBlanc to Hershey

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have re-assigned defenseman Julien Brouillette and center Peter LeBlanc to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.

Brouillette, 27, played in 10 games with the Capitals this season, registering two points (one goal, one assist). The 5'11", 196-pound defenseman recorded his first NHL point with an assist in his NHL debut on Feb. 6 against Winnipeg and scored his first NHL goal, the game-winning goal, on Feb. 8 against New Jersey.

Brouillette played in 48 games with Hershey this season, registering 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists) and 22 penalty minutes. The Saint-Esprit, Que., native ranks first among Bears defensemen in goals this season. Brouillette has recorded 71 points (22 goals, 49 assists) and 103 penalty minutes in 257 career AHL games with Providence, Hartford, Charlotte, Lake Erie and Hershey.

LeBlanc, 26, made his NHL debut on April 13 against Tampa Bay. The 5'10", 204-pound center registered 28 points (12 goals, 16 assists) in 65 games with Hershey this season and ranks eighth among Bears skaters in goals this season and ninth on the team in points. LeBlanc has recorded 132 points (60 goals, 72 assists) in 261 career AHL games with Rockford and Hershey.

LeBlanc spent four years at the University of New Hampshire (Hockey East), registering 85 points (34 goals, 51 assists) in 153 games. The Hamilton, Ont., native was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the seventh round, 186th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. The Capitals acquired LeBlanc from Chicago in exchange for Matt Beaudoin on Jan. 31, 2013.
