
Jeff Blauser to Sign Autographs Saturday

Mississippi Braves News Release
The Greenville Braves are excited to have former Atlanta and Greenville Braves shortstop JEFF BLAUSER available to sign autographs for fans prior to this Saturday night's Braves-Smokies game at Municipal Stadium. Blauser, a 13-year major league veteran, will be meeting and greeting fans from 6:00 - 7:00 on the stadium concouse. First pitch time is 7:15pm.
Blauser, who played for the G-Braves in 1987, broke in to the major leagues with Atlanta the same year. He went onto post a lifetime batting average of .262 with 122 home runs in 11 years with the A-Braves and two seasons with the Chicago Cubs before retiring following the 1999 campaign.
Blauser is best remembered for his 1997 year in Atlanta when he hit ..308 with 17 homers and 70 RBI. He appeared in the post-season with the A-Braves in six different years and was a member of Atlanta's 1995 World Championship team.
Now a roving minor league instructor for the Braves, Blauser will be in Greenville to work with the G-Braves infielders during the upcoming home stand.
Blauser's appearance is part of the Greenville Braves three-day "Independence Day/Salute to America Weekend", which includes fireworks shows Friday and Saturday nights and a Hank Aaron Bobble-Head Doll giveaway on Saturday. Also, on Sunday all members of the military and their families will be admitted for free.
