DAYTON, OH-The Midwest League has announced its 2006 Post Season All-Star Roster and Dayton Dragons outfielder Jay Bruce was among the 14 players that received the honor.

As of today's announcement, Bruce is batting .295 with 16 home runs and 79 runs batted in. Bruce ranks first in the Midwest League with 63 extra-base hits and his 42 doubles are just three shy of a franchise record. His .527 slugging percentage is good for third place in the league, while he ranks fifth in both home runs and RBI.

Bruce was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the first round (12th overall) in the 2005 First-Year Player Draft. He was also a starting member for the Eastern Division squad of the midseason all-star team, and brought home the "Star of Stars" award as the game's MVP.

Bruce becomes the 10th Dragons player to be a post season all-star, joining Braxton Whitehead and Austin Kearns (2000); Wily Mo Pena and Samone Peters (2001); Edwin Encarnacion, Noochie Varner, and Nate Cotton (2002); Chris Dickerson (2004); and Tonys Gutierrez (2005).
