Buffalo Bisons News Release
The Cleveland Indians announced Friday that pitcher Jason Davis has been optioned to the Buffalo Bisons. In return, reliever Matt Miller will leave the Bisons to join the Tribe.
Davis, 24, has spent the first part of the 2005 season with the Indians, going 2-1 with a 5.56 ERA in eight games. His lone start came on April 10 as he picked up the win in Cleveland's 7-6 victory over Detroit (6.0IP, 8H, 5R, 4ER, 1BB, 7K). His other seven outings of the season have come out of the bullpen, where Davis has gone 1-1 with a 5.40ERA in 16.2 innings pitched.
In 2004, Davis split time between the Indians and the Herd, pitching for Buffalo from July 8-September 1. He was 3-2 with a 3.00 ERA in nine starts with Buffalo.
Miller was dominating for the Herd since joining the team on April 19. Miller posted a 0.87ERA and three saves in his nine appearances. He also struck out 10 batters without allowing a hit over his last three outings (5.0 innings pitched). Miller began the season with Cleveland before being optioned to Buffalo after four scoreless outings.
